Purchased land on Northside expected to be Amazon.com center

Amazon.com fulfillment center estimated to create 1,500 jobs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A developer has purchased 155 acres in North Jacksonville for what is expected to be an Amazon.com e-commerce fulfillment center, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record

USAA Real Estate Company, through RELP Duval LLC, paid $15 million Thursday for the land. According to city construction documents obtained by the Daily Record, Seefried is listed as the developer and USAA Real Estate is listed as the owner.

The Daily Record reported Friday that the center would be built at Duval and Pecan Park roads, just off Interstate 295 near the Jacksonville International Airport.

It would be one of the largest development projects in city history, the Daily Record reports, and Amazon.com is expected to bring more than 1,500 jobs to the area.

Construction was projected to start this summer and be completed by the end of 2019.
