JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Federal charges of sex trafficking of a minor and racketeering were dropped when a Navy sailor pleaded guilty to a charged of using interstate commerce to aid unlawful activity.
Shanen Reyling, was 21 years old and on deployment when he was indicted by a federal grand jury in April 2014.
Reyling is from Illinois, but the FBI believed he lived in Jacksonville in September 2012 when he "did knowingly recruit, entice, harbor, transport, provide, obtain and maintain" an underage girl and caused her "to engage in a commercial sex act."
According to court records, Reyling pleaded guilty to interstate commerce charge in May 2016 and the trafficking and racketeering charges were dropped. His sentence was not disclosed.
