‘Harmonious Ascent' dedicated at ceremony Tuesday

A dedication ceremony was held to celebrate the sculpture “Harmonious Ascent,” which was commissioned by Preston Haskell, founder and chairman of the Haskell Company, in 2015.

Aisling Millar McDonald, a steel fabrication sculpture artist, created “Harmonious Ascent” for the chamber’s east lawn.

McDonald said the work of art was designed to bring the community together by sparking positivity and creativity.

"Words cannot describe. I am so excited to have something that I’ve created have a home in an area that I call home," McDonald said.

Tony Allegretti, executive director of the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, and Audrey Moran, the chair of JAX Chamber, attended the dedication ceremony, along with McDonald and Haskell.

"I want them to enjoy it and see that Jacksonville has art and a place for art to be cultivated and inspire kids to take art classes and to learn more about the different mediums out there," McDonald said.
