JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The owner of a car dealership on Jacksonville’s Northside is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man seen on surveillance video damaging several cars on the lot.

Lee Norton, the owner of Norton Motors, showed News4Jax surveillance video from Saturday morning. Norton said the man in the video broke four of the business’ eight surveillance cameras and tried to break into several vehicles.

“He didn’t steal anything, but he did break into a vehicle and damaged an ignition trying to steal it, and walked around the lot trying to open every door, but he didn’t get anything,” Norton said. “Vandalism is the problem. It costs money for us to fix them after they do damage to them.”

Norton said this is the second time in the past six weeks that cars have been vandalized on his lot.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
