Woman dies days after crash in Columbia County

FHP: Leslie Brenning, 38, drove wrong way on I-10

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman from Jacksonville died five days after being involved in a wrong-way crash in Columbia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Leslie Kathleen Brenning, 38, was critically hurt in a crash on May 10th.  She was traveling westbound in the eastbound inside lane of I-10 around 2 a.m., according to the FHP report.  She collided with another vehicle.

Brenning was transported to UF Health Gainesville with critical injuries.  She died on May 15th.

The driver of the other vehicle, Talia Lampley, 28, and her three passengers were taken to Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City with minor injuries.  

The crash remains under investigation, according to the FHP report.
