JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars cornerback Will Blackmon remembers his mother was always in the hospital, always sick. He lost her when he was just 6 years old to complications associated with Crohn's disease.
It's the reason he is serving as Revenue Chairman for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's Take Steps Walk this Saturday at the University of North Florida.

"Over the years I've dealt with the loss of my mother and knew that I wanted to do something to help others," Blackmon said. "I wanted to create awareness for this disease that affects so many and help those living in silence have a voice."
Crohn's disease and colitis are diseases that cause inflammation of the digestive tract, which can lead to bleeding, diarrhea and abdominal pain.

Event organizers say it's rain or shine. Strollers are welcome at all walk sites. Bicycles and in-line skates are not allowed.
