JACKSONVILLE – A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officer was taken to a local hospital after being involved in a crash Tuesday morning in the Lackawanna area.
Police said a driver had been heading south on Edgewood Avenue, as an officer was heading west on Beaver Street, around 6:30 a.m. Investigators said the driver of the other car said she had looked away for a moment, during which time, a stoplight turned red. Police said the two cars then collided.

The officer was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center to be checked out, and the driver of the other car was examined at the hospital as well. Police said both appeared to have minor injuries.
Police have not released the name of either driver involved in the crash.
