JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved accident Friday night.
Police told Channel 4 Friday night that a marked Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer cruiser was rear-ended by a pickup truck just after 10 p.m. on East Bay Street at Market Street in downtown Jacksonville.
The officer driving did suffer minor injuries as a result of the crash. Police said the officer, who was not named, was taken to UF Health Jacksonville to be checked out.
Police said the 52-year-old man who was driving the pickup was cooperating with detectives investigating the crash. There was no immediate word on whether the driver would face charges for the crash.
