KINGSLAND, Ga. – A southeast Georgia town is getting the unexpected: a $100 million entertainment and resort tourist destination.
Come 2014, there will be a nearly 600-acre resort in the middle of Kingsland at Exit 3 along Interstate 95. It will be called the Kingsland Entertainment and Adventure Resort.

The resort will include a hotel and conference center, a family-oriented entertainment hub and adventure park with 14 different venues. Among them are a bowling center, zip line and high ropes obstacle course, water park, amphitheater, as well as restaurants and shops.
The development will also include a sports complex with tournament-quality baseball and softball diamonds and multipurpose sports fields. The complex will be a venue for local sports leagues as well as regional and state tournaments.
Some advantages of the project are that an estimated 36 million cars annually travel up and down I-95 at the interchange; Jacksonville International Airport is only about 20 minutes south; and the location targets resident and tourist markets within an hour and a half drive time from the site.
The 574-acre project is proposed by Minneapolis-based Real Development Corp. and is expected to create more than 800 jobs.
