Lake City police looking for runaway teen

LAKE CITY, Fla. – Police in Lake City are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 16-year-old believed to have run away from an Interface Youth facility last month.

Police said Helena Pinkerton left the facility Aug. 16 and has not been seen or heard from by family since then.

Pinkerton is described as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall and 130 pounds, with red/brown hair, brown eyes, braces with pink bands and piercings in her ears, nose and navel.

Police said possible locations where she may be are the Gainesville or Live Oak areas, where she has friends in both communities.

The teen has been entered into the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse as missing, and a statewide notification has been released.
