Man, 26, charged in 22-year-old's killing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville have arrested a 26-year-old man in the killing of another man last month.

Travis Thornton is charged with murder in the March 19 shooting death of 22-year-old Bradley Jackson at the Roosevelt Gardens Apartments in the Hogan's Creek area.

According to a police report, there was an argument in the courtyard, and Jackson pulled out a gun.

Police said Thornton did, too, and got behind Jackson and shot him in the back of the head.

Police said Thornton turned himself in. Investigators said he told them he shot Jackson because Jackson had a gun, but he admitted Jackson never threatened him.
