Man, 49, wins $1 million in Florida Lottery scratch-off

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A 49-year-old Palm Coast man won $1 million in a scratch-off game from the Florida Lottery.

Matthew Schubert claimed his prize in the 100X the Cash game at the lottery's headquarters in Tallahassee.

Schubert said he doesn't have big plans for his winnings, but he is excited to buy a few things for his daughters.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $718,588.

Schubert purchased his winning ticket from an Instant Ticket Vending Machine at a Publix in Palm Coast. The retailer receives a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
