MACCLENNY, Fla. - A Baker County man was arrested after deputies said he threatened to kill Sheriff Joey Dobson and County Judge Joey Williams.
Investigators said Oren McDermitt threatened to shoot Dobson (pictured below) and Williams after the arrest Thursday night of his son, Russell McDermitt, on a charge of domestic battery on his pregnant girlfriend.
Oren McDermitt is charged with two counts of threatening to kill public officials, a felony. He was being held without bond pending first appearance Saturday.
Meanwhile, Russell McDermitt was re-arrested Friday for violating the conditions of his release on bond. Dobson said he returned to the girlfriend's home armed with a handgun.
