KINGSLAND, Ga. – A St. Marys man who agreed in an online chat to have sex with an 11-year-old girl in Gainesville, Fla., was actually chatting with an undercover detective, which led to his arrest, according to the Kingsland Police Department.

Douglas Castleberry, 34, told the detective in the chat he would bring photographs that could be used to instruct the girl in performing sexual acts, police said. They said Castleberry believed he was chatting with a parent of the girl.

Castleberry told the detective about having a relationship with a 10-year-old girl and also advised in another chat room the parent of a 6-year-old how to sexually abuse the child without injury or leaving evidence, police said.

Investigators said Castleberry mentioned having sexual relations with other children and asked how big the 11-year-old's bed was.

When Castleberry arrived in Gainesville on Wednesday, he was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of 357 images of child pornography, which he planned to use for instruction of the 11-year-old, police said.

Castleberry was booked into the Alachua County jail on charges of possession of child pornography and use of a two-way device to facilitate a felony.

The Kingsland Police Department, St. Marys Police Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Alachua County Sheriff Office were involved in the operation that lasted more than a week.
