ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A St. Johns County man is in jail, charged with attempted murder after deputies said he tried to hit several deputies with his car last week.
A manhut for Andrew Stanton, 26, started Tuesday by federal and local agents who said he tried to run over law enforcement officers, but Stanton turned himself in late Friday afternoon.

Stanton faced a judge Saturday morning for his first appearance on charges for three counts of attempted murder, fleeing, and resisting an officer with violence.
In the courtroom Stanton shook his head several times and put his hands on his face when the charges were announced to him by the judge.
Stanton is in jail without bond for the attempted murder charges.
The judge granted him $1,500 bond for fleeing and attempting to elude police and another $1,500 bond for resisting arrest.
During Stanton's court hearing, the judge asked him if he was able to afford a lawyer and Stanton answered 'yes'. Stanton did not have a lawyer at the time of the hearing.
On Tuesday, deputies said he tried to hit at least three law enforcement officers with his car. One deputy was hit in the foot but is now back at work and doing fine.
Back in 2008, police shot Stanton in the face during an altercation when he was wanted on felony drug charges and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, according to police.
We do not yet know when Stanton will face the judge again for another hearing.
