Deputies said they tried to stop the car, but the driver, identified as Robert Brock, refused. After a short vehicle pursuit where Brock tried to strike law enforcement and civilian vehicles, Brock jumped from his moving vehicle and began running on foot, deputies said.

They said he ran into a wooded area off Southwest Salem Road, but was caught after a brief foot chase.

Deputies said Brock admitted to the burglary and was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility.
