JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 21-year-old was convicted this week on one count of second-degree attempted murder in a 2012 shooting that left a woman paralyzed.

In October 2012, Denard Robinson and two others were involved in a shootout in Jacksonville Beach that stemmed from an argument over drugs, prosecutors said.

They said during the shooting, Robinson shot 26-year-old Lesha Mann, who was walking her dog nearby near the intersection Third Avenue South and Seventh Street South. The bullet struck Mann's spine, paralyzing her from the waist down.

Robinson faces 25 years to life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of March 31.

Daniel Jarrett was also shot and was later arrested on attempted murder charges. His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police said Jarrett and Denard Robinson were documented members of known gangs, but not Vernon Robinson.

Investigators said an argument between Jarrett, Denard Robinson and Vernon Robinson prompted the shooting.

Mann had recently moved to Jacksonville Beach to raise her two sons.
