Man convicted of molesting 7-year-old

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – James Robert Cox Jr., 31, was convicted Thursday evening on a charge of lewd or lascivious molestation.

In June 2012, authorities learned of sexual activity that occurred between Cox and the 7-year-old victim. Investigators found that Cox inappropriately touched the victim while she was asleep.

Cox faces life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of December 16.
