Man dies in Saturday morning single-car crash

JSO says car flipped multiple times before driver was ejected

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 22-year-old man died Saturday morning after his vehicle flipped multiple times, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around 5:15 a.m. Saturday, Casey Hoyt was driving on Starratt Road when he approached a left curve.

The vehicle traveled off roadway to the right , then re-entered the roadway and crossed both lanes of traffic. It then entered a ditch flipping once, crossing a drive way while flipping a second time and coming to a final rest in a yard off Starratt Road.

Hoyt was ejected and was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say their investigating is continuing.
