Police are searching for a suspect or suspects, but they do not have any descriptions at this time, nor do they know how many people might have been involved.

"We have a fairly extensive crime scene right now," said Sgt. Jay Farhat with JSO's homicide unit. "We don't know exactly what the motive was for the shooting at this point in time. Hopefully, once we get the witnesses downtown, we'll have a little more information."

Police described a white truck that left the scene, but they are not sure if it's connected. They are also working to review video taken in the area to see if it provides clues helpful to their investigation.

"The actual crime scene extends over just less than a block. The reason the crime scene was expanded out was because there was a possibility there may have been suspects that were running in the neighborhood," said Farhat. "We don't believe that was the case. There were several people seen running from the scene."

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
