In 2012, police were notified of sexual activity involving a young child by an eyewitness to the abuse. The report included the fact that Dalina Nicholas (pictured, below) was so addicted to crack cocaine that she failed to supervise the victim, her daughter, properly. The victim disclosed that Thompson had touched her inappropriately.
Thompson's co-defendant, John Hagans, was sentenced last month to life in prison without parole for capital sexual battery.
Nicholas pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated child neglect and will be sentenced next week. The state is recommending a sentence of no less than 25 years in prison for her.
