Jeffrey Mackey pleads not guilty a charge of murder in his ex-wife's death.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The man who police said confessed to killing his ex-wife has been formally charged with murder.

Jeffrey Mackey, 58, is accused of shooting and killing Kimberly Mackey, who was reported missing from her Southside home on Memorial Day.  The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the ex-husband drove her body 1,150 miles to Missouri to bury her on the property of another of his ex-wives.

At an arraignment Monday morning, Mackey pleaded not guilty on the murder charge. He will continue to be held without bond.

Kimberly Mackey was 48 and had two adult children.  The couple had been divorced for several years.
