JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man convicted in the stray bullet shooting death of a mother of three as she sat in traffic two years ago was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
As part of the life sentence, Judge Brad Stetson also set the minimum-mandatory for Taurice Brown
as life. The sentence guarantees Brown will never be released and will die in prison.

Stetson also sentenced Brown to 65 years in prison, with a 20-year minimum-mandatory for the attempted murder of another man involved in the shooting.
Brown was convicted in October on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder in the killing of Analiza Gobaton on Oct. 22, 2010.
Gobaton, 41, was heading to her children's school for an awards program. She was at a red light at Blanding Boulevard near Transylvania Avenue, when she was shot in the head.
The bullet that killed Gobaton was a stray bullet from a drug-related shooting at a home on Transylvania Avenue. Brown, a drug dealer, went to the home to sell cocaine. When he arrived, Brown got into a verbal argument with another drug dealer. Brown then started shooting at the other drug dealer as he drove away from the area.
John Gobaton, Analiza's husband, told the court he could not put into words the pain and anguish his family has endured in the last two years.
"All I have is memories now. I miss my best friend," he said.
He also told the court that his three children -- ages 16, 12 and 5 -- have been robbed of their caring mother.
