"He was approached by three unknown black males asking for directions to Arlington Expressway. When he pointed out the direction, one of them shot him in the leg one time and drove off. He doesn't know who these guys are, has never seen him before, has no idea why they shot," said Det. Overholser with JSO.

JSO said Odom was walking between apartment complexes when the men approached him.  Police did not know the exact names of the complexes late Sunday night.

Odom called police and a rescue crew transported him to a local hospital.

"All he knew, there was a brown colored vehicle. At this point, we have no further information than that," said Det. Overholser.

On Tuesday, police had no additional details, but said it's an active, ongoing investigation.
