Man sought in string of Winn-Dixie burglaries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville are trying to identify a man sought in connection with burglaries to four Winn-Dixie stores in Duval and St. Johns counties.

Police were called to Winn-Dixie in the 1500 block of University Boulevard West on June 9.

They said the man entered the store during business hours and hid in the restroom until the store closed. Police said he then left the restroom and pried open the automated cash dispenser that is a part of the self-checkout lane.

After taking an unknown amount of cash, he left the store.

The burglar is also a person of interest in connection to two burglaries at Winn-Dixies in St. Johns County and one at Winn-Dixie in the 11700 block of San Jose Boulevard.
