JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The anti-crime organization Mad Dads participated in a neighborhood canvas Saturday afternoon, in hopes of bringing attention to victims of unsolved crimes.
27-year-old Brandon Gentry was found on the side of Picketville Road in Northwest Jacksonville on August 11, 2013, about 3:30 a.m.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office considers Gentry's death a hit and run, but no one was ever arrested.
His family members were among those who marched with MAD DADS on Saturday, hoping to encourage people in the neighborhood to come forward with information on the crime.
His mother, Carol Kent, participated in the canvas hoping someone will eventually come forward.
"He left behind two small children," Kent said. They're three and under. He was a wonderful father and he didn't deserve this. No one deserves death like this."
Anyone with information on this hit and run or other unsolved crimes can the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
