Minor injuries in Moncrief shooting

JSO: Victims sustained minor injuries, one victim grazed by bullet

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in the Moncrief area Wednesday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m., officers were dispatched to the intersection of Norwood Avenue and Laurel Street in reference to a shooting.

A few moments later, an officer was flagged down outside of UF Health by the victims, according to JSO.

One victim was grazed by a bullet, the others received minor injuries.

According to police, this was not a drive-by shooting incident. Prior to the shooting there was some sort of argument.

Police said there were several people in the car at the time of the shooting. JSO's Violent Crimes Task Force is investigating the details behind the incident.
