Motorists warned about wildfire conditions in St. Johns County

Visibility dangers on US-1 at Shores Boulevard

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is warning motorists to use caution as they monitor an 8-acre wildfire in St. Johns County.

The wildfire is in the area of US-1 and Shores Boulevard in St. Johns County. Officials said the fire may affect roadways in St. Johns County.

Motorists are being encouraged to use caution while traveling in the area.

The FHP said roadway visibility may deteriorate quickly because of the smoke or fog-type conditions in the area.

Motorists are also being reminded to reduce speed to avoid any collisions and use their low beam lights in order to adapt to changing weather conditions in the area.
