JACJSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. - It is a show you have to see to believe: Six blue and yellow FA-18 Hornets fly up to 700 mph in perfect formation during the Sea and Sky Spectacular at Jacksonville Beach.
"This was fantastic for my little boy to come out and see something like this. It was so friendly, I wish the world could be like this everywhere," said spectator Kenneth Gaston.
The show drew thousands from all over the region anxious to watch the Blue Angels in action, flying sometimes as close as 18 inches apart.
"I thought it was awesome. I like how the Blue Angels came over super fast and the loops were awesome and I also like how they went up in the air and stalled out and free fell, and the parachuters were just absolutely amazing," said spectator Christian Figueroa. "I will definitely come back tomorrow."
"It was lovely. I'm 66-years-old. I loved it," said Army veteran Charles Schoff.
Leaving the Sea and Sky Spectacular wasn't as enjoyable as the show because of lines of traffic. Police officers helped direct pedestrians and cars eager to leave the beach. But many said fighting the crowds and the cars was worth it to see a show they'll never forget.
"The loops and everything they did was just awesome. It was so great. I'm going to stay here tonight and watch it again tomorrow," said spectator Frank Wolosko.
