Officers, firefighters weigh-in for annual Guns N' Hoses event

Annual event has history of fundraising in city, has raised $1.5M

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Officers and firefighters were weighed in Tuesday evening for the annual Guns N' Hoses event.

The official weigh-in for the 17th annual event took place at Rebounders on Old St. Augustine Road.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (FOP) and firefighters the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department (IAFF) were weighed and matched with their opponent, event organizers said.

Ring Girls were also on hand to promote the event and sign autographs.

Guns N' Hoses has a history of fundraising in Jacksonville and has raised over $1.5 million for FOP and IAFF charities, organizers said.

"The fighters take the event seriously, train hard and enjoy a bit of rivalry as well," organizers said.

The weigh-in is a precursor for the main event that takes place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. Organizers said tickets are $13 for general admission and $40 for reserved, $50 club seating. Tickets can be purchased at the Arena Box Office, ticketmaster.com or at the FOP Lodge at 5530 Beach Blvd.
