JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a serious traffic accident Thursday night, that involved a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on Beach Blvd.
Sgt. D.E. Williams was at the scene. He said a man was walking across Beach Blvd. heading north when he was hit by a woman in a vehicle heading west on Beach Blvd.

Witnesses at the scene said the vehicle had a green light.
Williams said the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Shands Jacksonville. Traffic homicide is investigating the accident.
The pedestrian's identity has not yet been released.
