Person shot in leg after robbery

Victim transported to UF Helath with non-life-threatening injuries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the Sunbeam area late Wednesday night.

Around 11:55 p.m. the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at 10275 Old St. Augustine Road at the Coopers Hawk Apartment complex.

Police said a victim had been shot in the leg during an altercation and  was transported to UF Heath with non-life-threatening injuries. 

That victim contacted News4Jax Friday evening and said he was the victim of an armed robbery.  The man told News4Jax that he is out of the hospital and recovering from the gun shot wound. 

The victim also said he is working with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to identify the person who shot him.
