Police ID 29-year-old killed when car overturns into pond

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville have identified a man who died after his car overturned into a retention pond last week.

Police said 29-year-old Daniel Parker was driving south on Bartram Park Boulevard just after 5 p.m. March 22 when he made an abrubt turn onto Pavillion Drive.

Parker lost control, drove over a curb and through a fence and overturned into a retention pond, police said.

Several people and three police officers entered the water and removed Parker from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

Parker was wearing a seat belt.

Police said their investigation is ongoing.
