Police: Images show Lake City bank robber

LAKE CITY, Fla. – Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a bank robber caught on camera.

Investigators said the robbery happened just before noon Monday at the Bank of America at 2357 W. U.S. Highway 90.

According to authorities, a man who was possibly wearing a wig entered the bank. Investigators said he walked up to a teller and said, "This is a robbery, give me your large bills."

The man fled on foot in an eastward direction with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen in the area of the Gondolier restaurant.

Police said they canvassed the area for the robber but were unable to find him.

The robber is described as a white man between 40 and 50 years old and between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing a dark blue shirt, dark blue pants, and a brace on his left wrist.
