Police said Lee drove his girlfriend to the hospital. When police arrived, Lee told them someone broke into the apartment and shot the two victims.

Investigators said they later learned from the girlfriend that Lee was the shooter.

The couple has two children together, and they were at the apartment during the shooting, according to police.

Police said Lee and his girlfriend have a history of domestic violence. Lee didn't live with his girlfriend and her father, police said.

Lee was arrested Tuesday at his home and did not appear in court Wednesday for his first appearance.

Lee is being held in the Duval County jail without bond on the murder charge and $2 million bond on the attempted murder charge.
