JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man driving through the east side of Jacksonville is recovering after police said he was struck with a stray bullet Wednesday night.
Police said the man drove himself to the hospital after realizing he had been shot in the 1800 block of Jones Street. The man's name was not released Wednesday night.
Police said the man told him he was driving near 9th and Jones streets when he heard the gun fire and then felt pain in his arm and back.
Police searched for evidence in the area Wednesday night. Police are asking anyone with information about the gun shots to call Crime Stoppers with information, the number is 1-866-845-TIPS
