JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 37-year-old man believed to be employed by the U.S. Navy drowned in a pool at a Westside apartment complex overnight, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police were dispatched to Savannah Oaks Apartments at 6017 Roosevelt Boulevard about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday by reports of a body at the bottom of the pool.

Wednesday morning, police identified the man as Martin Bediako.

Investigators believe Bediako drowned Monday night, but was not discovered until the next morning. No foul play is suspected.

"Some residents heard some activity poolside late last night," homicide Sgt. Dan Jansen said. "It happens frequently, the hear that, so they never looked outside."

Police said the man had lived at the complex since May.
