Police seek info in 5 Brunswick cold cases

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The Brunswick Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving five cold cases dating back to 2007.

Barbar Garnto, 25, was found dead at about 11:45 a.m. June 6, 2007, in the park at the intersection of Johnston Street and N Street. She may have last been seen alive at about 1 a.m. that day near the 2200 block of Reynolds Street.

Drew Sweeney, 52, was found shot to death at about 9:50 p.m. May 15, 2009, in the 1700 block of Norwich Street. He may have last been seen walking in the 1700 block of Norwich Street carrying a pizza box from Fox's Pizza.

Tytus Alston, 18, was found shot to death at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 31, 2011, in the 1400 block of Stonewall Street. He may have last been seen riding a motor scooter in the area near where he was found.

Calvin Powell, 53, was found shot to death at about 7:45 a.m. Oct. 19 the 1700 block of Ellis Street. He was reportedly last seen alive the previous evening in the 2400 block of Norwich Street.

Gregory Boone, 24, died at the Southeast Georgia Health System at about 12:40 a.m. Nov. 19 as the result of a gunshot. He was shot by an unknown assailant while seated in a brown 2006 Pontiac G6 in front of his home in the 2600 block of Union Street, police said.
