Railway collapses in Fernandina Beach

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – A railway collapsed Sunday near A1A and Sadler Road in Fernanidina Beach, according to Sheriff Bill Leeper in Nassau County.

It is reported that a couple of cars carrying coal and asphalt overturned, but that the intersection with the railroad crossing is not blocked.

No injuries were reported.

Leeper said First Coast Railway is investigating.
