In all of the burglaries, there was no sign of forced entry, deputies said. They said among the items stolen was an Apple iPod, an older laptop computer, two gift cards, three sets of house keys, assorted loose currency and a Bible.

A week ago, several vehicle burglaries were reported in the Stone Hurst subdivision, deputies said. The Sheriff's Office said it has obtained video surveillance showing a young man entering an unlocked vehicle. The man then leaves this vehicle and, off camera, enters several other vehicles at the neighboring homes, deputies said.

Investigators said the burglars are entering unlocked vehicles and removing electronics, jewelry, money and, currently to date, two handguns.

Residents are reminded to remove valuables from their vehicles and to be sure to lock their vehicles, garages and homes. Also be sure to report any suspicious activity immediately to the Sheriff's Office.

Anyone with any information concerning the identity of the burglar in the video is asked to call Detective Andrew Stoinoff at the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-209-2148 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477).
