Investigators used dental records to identify remains of 41-year-old

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Clay County investigators have identified the remains found in an Orange Park retention pond this week as those of a missing 41-year-old Jacksonville man.

Investigators said dental records were used to confirm the remains as Erenio Rodriquez, who's been missing from his home for about a year.

Rodriguez was last seen in the Orange Park area, investigators said.

They said the cause of death remains unknown at this time.

A boy who was fishing Monday evening found a human skull with teeth on the bank of the pond and told his mother and grandfather. They then contacted the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators spent two days draining the pond to search for more remains.
