Mincey woke up the victim and her boyfriend to pester them about his money. Authorities said he badgered his roommate for two hours.

Attorneys said Mincey then armed himself with a butcher knife and as the victim walked out of her bedroom into the living room, Mincey slashed her throat with the knife.

The victim received 14 stitches to the neck, said attorneys.

Mincey faces 30 years in prison. He will be sentenced the week of June 3.
