Semi overturns on Old St. Augustine Road ramp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The entrance ramp to Old St. Augustine Road from Interstate 95 southbound reopened about two hours after a tractor-trailer overturned Friday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 36-year-old John Ricciardo of Kathleen, Fla., was going too fast when he tried to take the exit ramp from I-95 south to Old St. Augustine Road.

The dump truck was pulling a trailer and both overturned, blocking the ramp.

It took nearly two hours to clean up the wreckage.

State troopers said Ricciardo was not hurt and was cited for careless driving.

Traffic was rerouted to County Road 210 until the ramp reopened about 3:45 p.m.

As the ramp reopened, another accident blocked the left lane of the northbound lanes of I-95, causing traffic delays.
