Sex offender gets life for molesting 9-year-old girl

53-year-old was 1 of 5 prosecuted in case

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 53-year-old registered sex offender who pleaded guilty in October to molesting a 9-year-old girl was sentenced Thursday to life in prison.

Between August 2010 and March 2011, Robert Young sexually abused the child. He was allowed to stay in the girl's home and allowed to sleep with her in her bedroom.

Young is one of five individuals prosecuted in the case. Christopher Perry (pictured below on left), the girl's father, was convicted and sentenced to six life sentences on five counts of sexual battery, one count of lewd or lascivious molestation, one count of child neglect, and one count of conspiracy to commit sexual battery.

Perry's wife, Mary Perry (pictured below in middle), was sentenced to 30 years in prison on charges of child neglect and conspiracy to commit sexual battery.

The girl's parents, Christopher and Mary Perry, and maternal grandmother, Patricia Woloszynowski, were all arrested on felony charges of child neglect. Mary Perry was also charged with willfully failing to report suspectedabuse.

Patricia Woloszynowski (pictured right on right), the girl's grandmother, pleaded guilty to a charge of child neglect and was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Michael Halveland pleaded guilty to lewd or lascivious molestation. Halveland faces up to life in prison and will be sentenced later this month.
