JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 23-year-old restaurant robber was convicted Tuesday afternoon on two counts of armed robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
In February 2011, Charles Culp and his co-defendant, Cleona Housandtroutman, held up the Subway on Parental Home Road on the Southside. The two were wearing bandanas on their faces and were armed with handguns when they walked into the business.

Culp forced customers to the floor and stole money from customers and the restaurant. Culp and Housandtroutman then fled the area.
Jacksonville police captured them minutes later.
Housandtroutman is charged with one count of armed robbery in the crime. Her trial date is pending. Culp is a habitual felony offender with a conviction for armed robbery in 2007. He is also a prison release re-offender having committed this crime within three years of being released from prison.
Culp is also charged in two unrelated armed robbery cases. He now faces mandatory life in prison and will be sentenced the week of March 18.
