Suspect in custody for missing woman's death

Raymond Michael Braisel, 20, to be charged

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Glynn County police found the body Sunday afternoon in a wooded area off of Bladen Road at Highway 99 they believe is that of the 22-year-old mother of two missing since Tuesday.

Police say they found the body at 1:45 p.m. about 50 feet from the road.

Police and family believe it to be the body of Amber Whited who was reported missing after she left her job at the Golden Isles Harley-Davidson dealership in Brunswick for lunch on Tuesday and never returned.

According to a press release from the Glynn County Police, Raymond Michael Braisel, 20, will be charged in connection with the death of missing woman. Braisel was arrested Friday for the murder of another person and is being held by the Glynn County Sheriff's Office.

The body believed to be Whited's will be sent to Georgia Bureau of Investigations crime lab for positive identification and an autopsy.

"She was a good mom. she loved her kids very much and didn't party or drink, none of that. She was down on her luck, just started getting a job, she got back on her feet and then this happened... It's just a shock," said Whited's Stepfather, Michael Allen.

Brasiel was already charged with murder in Friday morning's stabbing death of 50-year-old Bobby Lee Jenks and aggravated assault in the stabbing of his wife, Mickie Lee Jenks, 56, at a house off Old Post Road just east of the Brantley County line.

Friends and family of Whited, created a makeshift memorial at the site where police found the body, and are trying to come to terms with the horrible news they got Sunday.

"It's very hard for us, very hard," said Whited's mother, Elizabeth Allen.

"It's just something you'd never expect. you take a lot of things for granted, I guess... You just never gonna realize how quickly it could happen," said Michael Allen.
