JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Michael Dunn, the man charged with murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis at a Baymeadows gas station last month, has hired a new attorney.

The 45-year-old from Brevard County hired Cory Strolla, an attorney from West Palm Beach.

Dunn's previous attorneys had claimed self-defense in the case because Dunn told investigators he felt threatened and that's why he fired into an SUV where Davis was sitting.

The shooting stemmed from an argument over loud music at a Southside gas station, police said.

Dunn is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 19.
