JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 16-year-old was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison followed by five years of probation for the 2013 hit-and-run death of a 78-year-old woman.

Keith Hartley pleaded guilty last month to charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving without a driver's license causing death or serious bodily injury.

Mavis Tutson died in the crash.

In October, Hartley, who was 15 years old at the time, was driving down Edgewood Avenue at a high speed when he lost control while driving on a curve.

Hartley drove the SUV over a curb and into the parking lot of Zion Hope Baptist Church, where he struck Tutson while she was sitting in her parked vehicle.

Hartley then fled the scene on foot.
