JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A jury has convicted a 23-year-old Jacksonville man on charges of attempted felony murder and armed robbery.

Prosecutors said Nicholas Warren and his co-defendant, James Taylor, broke into a home in Jacksonville Beach in March. Prosecutors said the two used a crowbar to beat Matthew Longhway.

Warren and Taylor also tried to shoot Longhway, but the gun jammed each time the trigger was pulled, prosecutors said.

After the beating, Warren took several TVs, a laptop and other electronics from the home.

Warren faces mandatory life in prison. His sentencing date will be set on Sept. 17.

Taylor pleaded guilty to the same charges earlier this month. His sentencing date will be set Aug. 27.
