DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake City man was charged with exceeding height limitations after a protruding load he was hauling hit an overhead concrete bridge and spilled onto the highway Tuesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

David Robert Stamper, 53, was driving a tractor trailer eastbound on SR 126 when the load hit the bridge (SR 9), causing the trailer's rear gate to detach. Part of the trailer's load then spilled into the left travel lane.
